I am a Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I have worked in the field for 16 years.
Over this time, I have supported people through a wide variety of challenges and life stages. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and tailored to the unique needs of each person, providing steady support and a safe space for growth. In addition to my counselling practice, I am also an accredited counselling supervisor, supporting other practitioners in their professional development.
Work With Individuals:
I work with individuals during many different times of transition, which may include:
Life transitions and identity – navigating changes that reshape how you see yourself and your place in the world
Relationship changes & couples counselling – supporting couples to reconnect, strengthen communication, and find new ways of relating
-
Eating concerns – living with or recovering from eating difficulties and exploring the emotions connected with food and self-image
-
Emotional well-being – managing the impact of anxiety, depression, and/or the weight of everyday stress
-
Workplace challenges – finding ways to cope with pressures, conflicts, or uncertainty in professional life
-
Family dynamics – exploring complex or difficult patterns and creating healthier ways of connecting
-
Grief and loss – finding space to honour your losses and support your healing process
-
Trauma-related experiences – working gently with the impact of past or recent trauma
-
Existential issues – exploring questions of meaning, purpose, and direction in life, especially in times of change or uncertainty
For many, counselling is a vital space to pause, reflect, and discover new ways of managing the pressures of everyday life, as well as the deeper questions that arise at various points in their journey.
Work With Couples:
I see working with couples as a privilege. Each relationship has its own story, and there is a reason two people came together, even if that can feel difficult to access when things become strained. Over time, life experiences, personal histories, and unmet needs can shape how partners relate to one another, sometimes leading to patterns that feel stuck or painful.
It is common for partners to begin to see each other as the problem, particularly when both are feeling hurt or misunderstood. Often, however, both people are responding to their own internal experiences. The work becomes about gently shifting from opposition to understanding, allowing space for greater awareness of how each person is affected and how they might begin to support both themselves and each other differently.
We may explore patterns such as withdrawal, shutdown, blame, or heightened reactivity. These responses are often linked to deeper emotional experiences and can be understood rather than judged, allowing something new to emerge within the relationship.
There are also times when trust has been impacted through what has occurred between partners. In these situations, it can feel difficult to see a way forward. While there is no quick resolution, there can be a process of coming to understand what has happened and what each person has been experiencing, and from there, begin to find a way forward at a pace that feels right for both of you.
I aim to offer a space free from judgement, where the humanness of being human is welcomed. The focus is not on right or wrong, but on understanding, reflection, and what may be possible from here.
Counselling offers a space to slow things down and look more closely at what is happening between you, whether that is working toward repair or simply creating a space where each person can feel heard.
